Basics

1. What is your full name? Do you have a nickname?
Nata van Derrin. I don’t really have one unless you consider “Na” a nickname…

2. How old are you? When is your birthday?
I’m also 17, just like Aziel, but I’m a little younger than him, though. My birthday is September 4th.

3. Where were you born? Where do you live now? Are you patriotic?
I was born in the Palace in Bellmoor. Actually, all of us were born here, and still live here. Not at all. If I could get out, I would.

4. Who are/were your parents? (Names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
King Nier is my father, and my mother was Aunna, his 5th wife. I used to like Nier, but after he killed my mother and held my sister, Chione, and I hostage, I’m not so sure.

5. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
I have 40 siblings. My only full sibling is my younger sister, Chione. She’s not very talkative, and prefers to be alone.

6. What is your occupation?
Princess, I guess.

7. How tall are you? How much do you weigh?
I am 5’5”, and I weigh 117 pounds.

8. What color is your hair? What color are your eyes?
I have black hair and brown eyes.

9. What is your race?
Human.

10. To which social class do you belong?
Upper class, or royalty, much to my dismay. We never get to go travelling of anything. Well, except Ueno and Min…

11. Do you consider yourself to be attractive? Do others?
Well, I don’t really think I am, but Azi insists that I am.

Well, I wear what I’m forced to. Nothing that I would wear if I had my own choice, though.

Not that I know of, but you never know.

14. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Mmm… I don’t believe so.

Right-handed, but I can write with both.

It’s hard to describe your own voice… Well, it sounds like my own voice.

I try to use as few big words as I can. I don’t want to sounds arrogant, unlike some people. ;)

I’m clingy, I don’t panic in situations when any sane person would and… I don’t like to play the part of princess, when any girl would.

One or twice a day. Erm, yes.

20. What kind of facial expression do you commonly wear (dour glare, wry smile, etc)?
Well, whenever I look in the mirror, I look contemplative.

Everyone does. I don’t as much as Aziel does, though. I don’t end up smacking people when I talk.

Mmm… no, I don’t think so.

Childhood

23. What is your earliest memory?
Hm, well, it was when Aziel and I were really little. We were outside, and we were playing in the garden, and the servants covered for us for a while so we could play.

24. How much schooling have you had? Did you enjoy it?
More than my brothers. A couple years more, I think. Maybe, like 2 or 3 more years?

25. Where did you learn most of your knowledge and skill?
In the Palace.

26. How would you describe your childhood in general?
I think Chione and I had the unhappiest childhood of all of King Nier’s children. Our mother was murdered by Nier, and we were held as prisoners for 4 years.

27. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A mage. I always wanted to go to the magic academy, but my status prevents that from ever coming true.

28. When and with whom was your first kiss?

29. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?

I guess they all are. Although most consider them celebrated, I consider them all more as tyrants.

Influences

31. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Hm, I don’t know. Becoming so close to Azi?

32. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
The same. It took forever for him to really trust me. 

33. What is your greatest regret?
Not getting out when I had a chance.

34. What is the most embarrassing or shameful thing ever to happen to you?
Kissing Azi. It’s not the fact that he’s my brother that is shameful, but the fact that it’s him.

35. Do you have any secrets? If so, what are they?
I don’t like to keep secrets.

36. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Well, I’ve heard that in some countries, doing things like kissing your sibling or any family member is bad, but considering the laws of my country, nothing I do is even slightly evil. I don’t even keep slaves. Well, that might be more due to the fact that my Nier doesn’t really like Chione or I.

37. When was the time you were the most frightened?
When Nier killed my mother. I was 5 years old. I mean, I didn’t see him do it, but I know he did. I mean, my mother was as healthy as she could be, and for him to claim she died “of a sudden illness” is just to farfetched.

38. Have you ever traveled outside of your country? If so, to where?
No, I haven’t really, but I’d love to get out some day.

Beliefs

39. What is your alignment?
Lawful good.

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Optimistic, definitely! What’s the point of seeing the worst, it’ll only make you sad and angry.

41. Do you believe in a god? If so, which one and why?
Well, Danata isn’t a very religious country, so we don’t have any religious texts or any form of religion. I know that there’s something up there watching over Chione and I, though, or else Nier would have killed us after the war was over.

42. Do you believe in an afterlife?
Mm, I’d like to.

43. What is your greatest fear?
Dying here, in Danata, without ever having seen the outside.

44. What makes you angry? Sad? Happy? Why?
Injustice makes me angry and sad, but I keep it to myself. Nier makes me angry. Even the sight of him. Being around people who actually care about me makes me really happy. Aziel makes me happy.

45. Do you think people are basically good or basically evil?
It depends on where you are. Sometimes, it seems like everyone around me is evil.

46. What are your views on politics? Religion? Sex?
I don’t know much about politics, but I know that anything would be better than being under Nier’s rule. Religion would be a nice thing. You know, something to follow other than Nier and his laws. Sex? Uhm… /// I guess it would be nice to have someone that actually loves me, but I don’t think I would go overboard as the rest of my family does… I think having just one person would be better than dozens…

47. What are your views on gambling, lying, theft, and killing?
Gambling isn’t really bad, as long as it’s in moderation and controlled. Everyone tells a lie now and then, but it’s okay so long as they’re for the best. Theft is wrong in most cases, although I think that the poorer people who steal food to feed their families shouldn’t be prosecuted for that. I don’t think murder should ever be justifiable except in the case of self-defense. If you kill someone for the sheer pleasure, it’s sick and wrong, and you deserve to die as well.

48. How far will you go to defend your beliefs?
As far as I have to.

49. How much do you value money?
Money is a nice thing to have, but it’s also a nice thing to share with other people. The world might be better without it, though. If everyone just had the right amount of things for their situation, everyone would be happy, wouldn’t they?

50. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Killing someone for the pleasure of doing so. That’s sick and twisted, and just plain wrong.

51. Do you believe in self-sacrifice for the greater good?
Yes. The loss of one person to save many is justified, but only as long as they agree to sacrifice themselves.

52. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Yes. I know that there’s someone out there, somewhere, that’s meant just for me.

Hee, yes, but not overly.

54. How much do you respect the beliefs and opinions of others?
Most of the time, unless they’re really wrong, like… “killing anyone is justified because we’re better than them”. That’s a sick attitude to have.

I’m usually honest, but most people get angry because of it.

Not especially.

Dealing With Others

57. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
I hate to admit this, but Chione comes in first, above Aziel. Chione is my blood.

58. Who is the person you respect the most? Despise the most? Why?
The person I respect the most is Prince Reinhardt. Of course, he’s a fictional character in a book my mother gave me. But I have to keep it hidden, or Nier will order it burned. I despise Nier above all other people. He’s the worst person I have ever had to meet. He kills for the pleasure of it. He murdered my mother because she was from a country that wouldn’t submit to him. He outlaws almost all forms of self-expression, unless they are approved by him first.

59. Do you have a significant other? Who?
I wish I did… ///

60. Do you have a lot of friends? Who is your best friend?
Not really. Most of the people in the Palace would not even spare a glance for me. In their eyes, I’m just one step above slave, and that’s only because I share Nier’s blood.

61. How do you relate to members of the same race? Class? Sex?
The only members of my own race I know live in Danata, and most people in Danata that I have met are disgusting, self-centered pigs. For the humans out there that are different, I treat them as my equals. All nobles are the same. They only care about themselves. They murder innocents, and even children. They disgust me. Most of the women I’ve met are horribly oppressed, especially if they’re married. I really pity them for having to assume the role they do.

62. How do you relate to members of a different race? Class? Sex?
The only other race I’ve met are the elves, and they’re all slaves. The only ones I know are really quiet, and no matter how nice I am to them, they refuse to even look at me. I think they’re afraid of most of us. I really feel sorry for them… I feel the closest to the lower class. I can understand their position even though I’ve never really been in that kind of a situation. Almost all the men of Danata are pigs. I hate them.

63. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
Yes, I’m in love right now. Nothing’s happened, and I doubt my affection will ever be returned.

64. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Intelligence, compassion, a sense of the value of life, kindness and affection.

65. How close are you to your family?
Not at all. Pretty much all of my family hates me or pretends I don’t exist. I can’t say that I really miss their company.

66. Do you want a marriage, family, and/or children?
Yes, but not in Danata. Marriage is simply a word here. It has no value anymore. A family would be very nice, and I would love to have children some day. Just… not here. I don’t want to be forced to have children for some man I don’t even love.

67. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I usually avoid conflict, but if I notice that I can resolve a situation, I’ll step in.

68. Are you a listener or a talker?
I listen most of the time, but I speak enough to get my points across.

69. How long does it usually take for you to trust others?
It depends on how they act.

70. Do you hold grudges?
Yes, I do. I’m sure that if I weren’t here, I wouldn’t.

No. I don’t have the personality it takes to be a leader.

Not especially. I will if I’m forced to, but I prefer to avoid that type of situation.

Alright, I guess. I’m better with writing than speaking.

As soon as I meet them, but I might revise my judgment based on their actions in the future.

Not particularly. I mean, most of my family pretends that I don’t exist, so I’m used to it.

Yes. I really have one in mind. Nier.


Personal Taste and Opinions

77. What is your favorite pastime? Color? Food? Possession?
I enjoy reading whatever books people manage to smuggle in. I like the colour green. I don’t really have a favourite food. My favourite possession is the book my mother gave us. The one about Prince Reinhardt.

78. What are your preferences in arts and/or entertainment?
I prefer to read than to listen or watch.

79. Do you smoke, drink, go whoring, or use drugs? Why or why not?
No, none. They’re just, not me.

80. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
It depends. Sometimes I read, sometimes I watch my baby half-siblings.

81. What is your most cherished fantasy?
To be able to get out of Danata with no opposition.

I could probably do the same thing for days and never tire of it.

I don’t laugh as much as I should.

Senseless violence and murder.

I read or daydream.

None of either, really.

I like most animals, except the really vicious ones. I absolutely adore children.

I need to plan things ahead of time so I don’t make a mistake.

People who are ignorant about the very world they live in. People who always think they’re right.

Self-Image

90. What is your greatest strength as a person? Weakness?
My greatest strength is my empathy, I guess. One of my weaknesses is that I don’t really stand up for what I believe in.

91. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would make myself more courageous.

92. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Introverted, definitely.

93. Do you like yourself?
Yeah, I’m okay.

94. Do you have a daily routine? How do you feel if your day is interrupted?
Not really. It’s hard to keep a routine in the Palace.

95. What goal do you most want to accomplish in the next six months? Your lifetime?
In the next six months, I want to have left Danata with Chione. In my lifetime? I’d like to fall in love, and have a couple kids. You know, the usual.

96. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years?
In 5 years, I will be living in another country, and will have met the love of my life. In 10 years, I will have had at least one child. In 20 years… well, who knows what will happen that far down the line?

97. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
As peacefully as possible.

98. What is the one thing you would like to be remembered for after your death?
Just, being a nice person.

99. What three words would you use to best describe your personality?
Uhm… introverted, hopeful, and empathetic.

100. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Azi says that I’m modest, loyal and clever.

101. Why are you risking your life to adventure?
Well, I really want to get away from this life, so I can start again somewhere better.
